You will be working as part of the LS2N RoMaS team. This team specializes in the development of robots capable of operating in large workspaces, in both the manufacturing and construction industries. More specifically, as part of the ANR AMATSUMARA national project, RoMaS will focus on the task of pre-welding pointing, on large metal parts, in applications in the shipbuilding and construction industries. The aim is to propose, verify and validate two-arm robotic solutions for this type of task.

As part of the AMATSUMARA project, your research activities will be as follows:

• Study existing methods for controlling robotic assembly

• Propose control solutions (based on position and perception)

• Develop and validate these solutions on AMATSUMARA project platforms.

Technical skills:

• Programming skills in C++/python and ROS

• Robot control and signal processing skills

Organizational skills:

• Propose the most appropriate methodology, taking into account objectives and constraints

• Be methodical

• Organize action plans independently

• Ability to manage and organize work

• Ability to cooperate

• Ability to pass on professional knowledge

Social and interpersonal skills:

• Ability to listen, question and reformulate, orally or in writing

• Ability to adapt language and comments to different interlocutors

Level required: Engineering degree or equivalent in robotics, automation or control, ideally supplemented by initial experience in these fields.

Nature of the position

• 24-month fixed-term contract

• Open to contract and permanent employees

• Full-time position - based in Nantes

• Travel to be planned (fortnightly in France)

• Work on several sites (with AMATSUMARA project partners)
