Within the École Centrale de Nantes, the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Laboratory (GeM) is a joint research unit of Nantes University, Centrale Nantes and the CNRS. Its aim is to bring together within a single laboratory all the expertise available in the Nantes-Saint-Nazaire metropolitan area in the fields of civil engineering, materials and process mechanics, and structural mechanics modelling and simulation.
Job description:
We are looking for someone to carry out research activities as part of the ANR Scity BEACON project on a 7-month fixed-term contract.
Your main tasks will be as follows:
Conduct research as part of the BEACON Project.
Publish the results of your thesis. At least two articles.
Disseminate the conclusions/results of your research through the production of high-quality journal articles and presentations, either internally or at national/international conferences or seminars.
Write a project in line with your thesis and the BEACON Project.
Work in collaboration with other researchers and industrial partners, postdoctoral researchers on interdisciplinary research issues.
Secondary activities and tasks of the position:
Write project progress reports.
Actively plan and shape the direction of the research project.
Participate in the establishment and management of the day-to-day running of the laboratory.
Identify and generate appropriate sources of funding and prepare research proposals for funding bodies.
