Job description:
The person recruited will be attached to the Laboratoire de recherche en Hydrodynamique, Energétique et Environnement Atmosphérique (LHEEA), a CNRS joint research unit under 2 supervisory bodies:
Ecole Centrale de Nantes and CNRS. The IIHNE team, Interfaces & Interactions en Hydrodynamique Numérique & Expérimentale, studies complex hydrodynamic interactions between free-surface flows and bodies.
As part of the “Joint Laboratory of Marine Technology” project, in partnership with Naval Group and Sirenha, your main mission will be to evaluate and improve the robustness of a wave prediction chain for naval applications.
Other missions will be complementary:
Develop and use numerical simulation software for wave prediction
Analyze data from measurements at sea
Analyze results, draft summary documents
Write scientific articles
Present results at international scientific conferences
Job requirements
Skills :
Proficiency in scientific computing and numerical analysis
Proficiency in a programming language: Python, Fortran, C++.
Knowledge of the marine environment
Interest in ocean engineering
Fluent English
Required qualities :
Autonomous
Dynamic
Ability to interact with researchers working in a variety of fields
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
Level required: You have a PhD in one of the following fields: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Scientific Computing, Modeling, Numerical Simulation, High-Performance Computing, Fluid Mechanics, and you have 1 to 3 years' professional experience.
