Job description:
As part of the joint laboratory between Centrale Nantes and Everllence, we are seeking a design engineer to develop the digital environment dedicated to WAAM additive manufacturing, in line with our partner’s industrial challenges.
The role involves, in particular, designing and developing approaches to trajectory generation, as well as preparing manufacturing processes for demonstrators.
Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
Establishing a coherent digital workflow for WAAM additive manufacturing
Coordinating the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools
Organising and reporting on testing and fine-tuning
Acting as a technical adviser to internal stakeholders
Conducting technology watch on materials, tools and design methods
Developing manufacturing, inspection and assembly procedures.
Programme digital machines, monitor processes and ensure successful production
Apply and enforce safety regulations regarding the use of the machine fleet
Contribute to the promotion of the department’s technologies
Specific duties of the post
Programme additive manufacturing process trajectories for the targeted applications
Prepare and carry out experimental studies to validate the concepts developed
Job requirements
Knowledge:
Machining, mechanical manufacturing and additive manufacturing techniques (in-depth knowledge)
Mechanics (tolerances, fits, metrology, technical drawing, etc.) (in-depth knowledge)
Programming languages
Materials and their properties

Required qualifications: You must hold, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and, ideally, have some successful experience in this field.
