Job description:
We are looking for a science outreach coordinator to work within the Research Directorate and the Communications Directorate.
This recruitment is part of an ERDF–CSTI project aimed at promoting and disseminating the knowledge and work of our researchers in science and technology to the École Centrale community and the general public.
Your main responsibilities will be as follows:
Organise and, where appropriate, deliver activities in the form of presentations, demonstrations and guided tours, which may include the presentation of scientific and technical experiments
Draw up an annual calendar and standard tour itineraries in collaboration with the platform managers.
Help set up the dedicated space (a research showroom currently being established) and the associated demonstrators and educational tools (models, virtual tours).
Draw up specifications for one-off, local or national events, and organise the practical and logistical arrangements.
Support PhD students and undergraduates in their involvement in the dissemination of knowledge (e.g. MT180, student clubs such as ‘Petits Nobel’).
Organise and deliver flagship events, in collaboration with the events manager (Science Festival, Researchers’ White Night, seminars, scientific conferences).
Develop and design communication materials in collaboration with the communications team (website, booklets for temporary events, signage for the platforms, posters in the platforms and in the showroom, popular science articles, educational booklets, etc.)
Manage, disseminate and archive information relating to the tour programme
Collect data and populate dashboards to measure the impact of the initiatives carried out (attendance figures, feedback, etc.)

Required qualifications: You must hold a two- or three-year post-secondary qualification in science communication, scientific culture or communications, and have 3 to 5 years’ professional experience in a similar field. A strong passion for science and technology is essential, as is an interest in sharing and popularising scientific knowledge.
