Job description:

Within the Department of Education, we are seeking a contract-based lecturer and researcher in the field of statistics.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering mathematics courses within the General Engineering programme, primarily in the first year (L3 level), in the fields of probability, statistics and optimisation.

• Contribute to teaching on the ‘Mathematics and Applications’ module in the second and third years of the General Engineering programme.

• Contribute, as required for teaching purposes, to mathematics teaching on the Bachelor’s programmes (L1 and L2 levels).

• Conduct research within the ALEA team at the Jean Leray Mathematics Laboratory (LMJL), whose research focuses in particular on probability, statistics, approximation theory and machine learning.

• Contribute to the laboratory’s scientific activities by leading research projects, promoting research outputs and fostering academic collaborations.

• Develop research in statistics, drawing on recognised expertise in the mathematical and/or methodological aspects of the discipline.

Required qualifications:

PhD or a certificate from the thesis supervisor confirming that the thesis defence will take place during the recruitment period.

Nature of the post:

Contractual lecturer-researcher position – 12-month fixed-term contract

Full-time post (192 teaching hours) – based in Nantes
