Research Engineer in Control Engineering (M/F) – ref 1142

Job description:

As part of research in control systems, you will be required to develop discrete observer and control law schemes, both theoretically and numerically.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing discrete schemes for non-linear differentiators/controllers – theoretical development and numerical implementation

• Applying these to experimental systems (robots, etc.)

Secondary duties and tasks

• Organising meetings

• Drafting reports as part of the ANR SlimDisc project

• Drafting scientific articles (journals, international conferences)

Professional skills:

• Ability to work independently

• Sense of responsibility (deadlines, deliverables)

• Prioritisation of tasks,

• Organisational skills,

• Ability to work in a team

• Ability to report and write scientific articles/communications/reports

Technical skills:

• Very good command of control theory (particularly non-linear), explicit/implicit discretisation

• Numerical methods, scientific English

Supervisory skills:

• Ability to supervise Master’s-level student projects

Interpersonal and social skills:

• Ability to work as part of a team on a project.

Required qualifications: You must hold at least a Master’s degree and/or a relevant general engineering degree; a PhD in control engineering would be an advantage.

• 8-month fixed-term contract
