Job description:

You will work in two laboratories: the Jean Leray Mathematics Laboratory (main assignment) and the Centre for Research in Transplantation and Translational Immunology, more specifically within the ALEA team. This team develops probabilistic and statistical approaches dedicated to the modelling and analysis of complex systems, both theoretical and applied. Your main task will be to design a predictor of chronic kidney transplant rejection based on blood omics biomarkers and clinical data.

In this role, your tasks will include:

  • Reading scientific articles

  • Monitoring scientific developments and contributing to knowledge transfer

  • Analysing multi-omic biological data

  • Developing analytical methods and libraries in biostatistics

  • (Co-)supervising and training students in biostatistical analysis

Job requirements

Technical skills:

  • Data analysis software

  • R and Python languages

  • Ensuring reproducibility and technical expertise

  • English language (B2)

Adaptability skills:

  • Ability to interact with researchers in both applied mathematics and biology.

  • Ethical and regulatory requirements.

  • Complexity of biological data to be processed

Organisational skills:

  • Planning and organising regular follow-up meetings

  • Organising, managing and maintaining scripts

Interpersonal and social skills:

  • Team-based research work

  • Interpersonal and scientific communication

  • Critical thinking

Required qualifications: You have a degree in general engineering or a master's degree in biostatistics. The position is open to entry-level candidates.
