Job description:

The person recruited will be attached to the Laboratoire de recherche en Hydrodynamique, Energétique et Environnement Atmosphérique (LHEEA), a CNRS joint research unit under 2 supervisory bodies: Ecole Centrale de Nantes and CNRS.

You will be working on the TNTM project (Transformation numérique du transport maritime), a French research project focusing on decarbonizing maritime transport.

Your activities will include :

  • Participate in the co-development of several tools based on the equations of the physics of a ship's various components (engine, propeller, battery, etc.) and of the ship's overall energy system. For this part, the candidate will be assisted by specialist engineers familiar with these equations.

  • Ensure operational and organizational follow-up of part of the project.

  • Produce deliverables for around ten ships, including :

    -Data analysis and processing

    -Model calibration

    -Possible new developments

    -Simulation

    -Presentation of results and analysis in various reports

Nature of position

  • 12-month fixed-term contract

  • Open to contract and permanent staff

  • Category A - Research Engineer

  • Full-time position - based in Nantes

  • Flexible working hours

  • Travel required (one or two per year)

  • Modulation of work cycles (possibility of working over 4.5 days)

  • RTT + additional leave
