Job description:
You will be based at the Institut de Recherche en Génie Civil et Mécanique (GeM), located on the École Centrale Nantes campus. The GeM comprises 9 Thematic Research Units (UTR), and you will be attached to the 15-member "Rapid Manufacturing Processes" (RAPMAN) unit.
Your main activities will be as follows:
Review existing WAAM process methodologies
Conduct literature searches on WAAM and WAAM repair
Study and analyze existing additive manufacturing processes
Learn robotic cell processes
Participate in WAAM work
Participate in experimental work
Secondary activities and tasks
Process data
Write and format reports
Monitoring
Job requirements
Professional skills:
Mastery of manufacturing processes
Mastery of multi-physics approaches
Knowledge of metallurgy
Technical skills:
Understanding of process parameters (power and wire speed, density and porosity control)
Knowledge of materials (properties of metal alloys)
Understanding of residual stresses and deformations Specific microstructures (metallurgy)
Knowledge of the thermal post-treatments required
Mastery of modeling and Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM)
Interpersonal skills:
Ability to work as part of a team in project mode
Level required: You have a Master's degree or an engineering degree and experience in a field related to mechanical engineering.
